BJP to declare Nadda's successor on Jan 20

The BJP announced its national presidential election schedule on Friday, stating that nominations will be accepted on January 19 and the current JP Nadda's successor will be announced the following day.

Polling will take place on January 20 if more than one candidate files a nomination, which is improbable given that current president Nitin Nabin is expected to be elected.

In order to choose the next president, the BJP also released the list of the electoral college, which consists of 5,717 voters ranging from PM Narendra Modi to local members.

In addition to chief ministers, Modi and his cabinet colleagues, including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, are anticipated to file several sets of nomination papers endorsing Nabin, who will be the party's youngest president at age 45. He will take over for Nadda, who was elected on January 20, 2020, precisely six years ago.
